As a Transition Group we have looked at good practice linked to Transition and what we are already provide and how we could improve the current provision. We discussed the research and how we can develop a more cohesive approach in relation to Transition.
The Transition research group have also been developing work around schemes of learning in Key Stage 3. We have been researching the topics and objectives that the Feeder Primary Schools deliver in their schools within the Foundation Subjects. We have then started to look at the work that is delivered within Key Stage 3 in Dyke House College. Focusing upon the topics that are being taught and the objectives that have been covered. We are currently auditing and similarities/differences between the Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 curriculum's. We will then feedback to Heads of Departments across the College. This will then inform planning and schemes of learning for Key Stage 3 and they will be adapted to ensure we are challenging and extending the pupils when they enter Dyke House College.
